Artists and photographers – enter the #myWandsworth #instagram competition

Instagram photography exhibition – no entry fee – see your work in a London show

On Saturday the mayor of Wandsworth Angela Graham launched the #myWandsworth photography competition for Instagram photographers. Arranged in aid of the Mayor’s charity for young people, judges will chose winning images to be shown in an exhibition  in central Wandsworth.

Anyone can enter, the only proviso is that pictures must be taken in the London borough of Wandsworth. That’s quite a big proviso if you’re in Aberdeen or Devon, but maybe you could loving recreate a model Wandsworth Park in your bedroom and take snaps of that. It would have to be a very good model to fool the judges though, they know Wandsworth pretty well.

To enter just upload your photos of life in Wandsworth to Instagram and add the tag #myWandsworth. Any subject is welcome, the only rule is it just has to be taken in Wandsworth.

To kickstart the #myWandsworth competition the London Instagram group took a leisurely photography stroll around the borough, circling down to the Thames from the High Street. You can see the fruits of that meander by checking out the #myWandsworth hashtag on Instagram. And then add your own photos before the 22nd of March, to have them considered for the show on the 12th April.

For more details look at the London Instagram group, or  #mywandsworth on Instagram.  All images will be for sale to raise money for the Mayor’s charity, so get snapping!
