City arts and culture editors

Culture vulture? Love art or film or dance or books or… Reckon you can write a bit and can spot interesting people to cover? Want to get involved with an indie arts project? Excellent! Read on Macduff. The Flaneur is looking for volunteers who want to become online editors of arts sections in The Flaneur. You can see the type of sections available by looking at the menu pages and categories. These include: Fine art, Film, Literature, Poetry, Style, Music, Zines, Fun, Interviews, Photography, Travel, Food, Drink.

These positions are available to anyone in the world. You can concentrate on your city or take a wider view of a complete arts section. You must be enthusiastic and pro-active – you would only be expected to contribute as and when you feel able, but your remit would include finding new talent and contributors. After a trial period you would be able to add contributors to the The Flaneur and run your area autonomously. We would also welcome you if you are interested in a subsection of an area – eg short films, sculpture, hiaku… This is a position with great potential. You can take your section in any direction you want to and have responsibility for building a team of writers that will make your section a must-read section. Experience is not as important as enthusiasm so go on, get involved.

Please send a short example of your work to editor@flaneur.me.uk with The Flaneur – New Editor in the title. Tell us where you live, why you should be chosen, the sort of arts you are most interested in and the types of contributors you would seek out.

Many thanks

You will choose contributors and be able to specialise in which ever genre you prefer. You can write reviews yourself as well. We are also looking for people to live-tweet from festivals about their experiences.

The Flaneur is run by volunteers so there is no pay, except for the fun of being part of a large indie arts project.

Interested? Please get in touch on music@flaneur.me.uk with EDITOR in the title. There are no arduous hours expected, just take part when you can.
Keep smiling!
