Jerwood Painting Fellowships 2013
More details: Jerwood Visual Arts - UK
UK based painters are invited to apply for the second Jerwood Painting Fellowships, to be awarded to three outstanding artists in the first five years of their professional practice.
The three selected painters will each receive a bursary of £10,000 and one year of critical and professional development support from mentors Marcus Harvey, Mali Morris RA and Fabian Peake
During the Fellowship year each artist will work towards a body of new work, which will be exhibited in a group show as part of the JVA programme at Jerwood Space, London in March 2013, before touring within the UK. The mentors will curate the exhibition.
The purpose of the Fellowships is to offer structured opportunities for artists to develop in two distinctive areas: studio practice and professional development. Between March 2012 and February 2013 mentors will engage with the Jerwood Painting Fellows both in critical review of their work and working practice. This programme of support will be devised to suit the individual needs of each Fellow and during selection the mentors will be looking for artists whose practice will benefit most from the opportunities offered.
The Jerwood Painting Fellowships were created in 2010 to identify and support three outstanding emerging painters. For information on the 2010 Fellows and to download the catalogue visit the JVA Archive.
