Glastonbury Festival has announced the 2014 edition of the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition. This is a big one, the prize is not a few CDs or a signed hat, instead it is the chance to play on one of the main stages at Glastonbury Festival. That’s right! Your band. At Glastonbury!
Bands in any musical genre can enter, and entries will be accepted for just one week, from 20th January – 27th January. You will have to provide a link to an original song on Soundcloud and also a link to you performing live – ‘even if it’s just in your bedroom’!
Music writers will compile a long list of acts, which will be reduced to 8 by a panel including Michael and Emily Eavis.
At a live showcase final in April these 8 bands will compete together to decide the winning act. Scouting for Girls, Stornoway and the Subways have all kickstarted their career this way, so good luck and get ready to enter on 20th Januray.
