We need to make some space
for open-mindedness
and some room for
big ideas
so throw out your
collection of unconscious
thoughts and get rid
of the Ritalin-proof riddles
that make you pace the room
your facial muscles tense
defenseless against
perceived throngs
of wrongs and the ping-pong
prisoner of war drip-drops
on your head aching
for no more heart aching
and your soul asking
for you to stop wallowing
following in your father’s
tentative footsteps
you chip off the old
toppling blocks of your
childhood and now
you blow down
your brick and mortal
house of pick-up-stick
morality
as you plead,
“Please sir, I want some more”
