The UK’s hottest BBQ and music festival Grillstock will return to Bristol’s harbourside on the 11th and 12th May. If you haven’t been before it combines a low ‘n’ slow barbeque competition with international music, a cooking academy, unique craft beer bar and now legendary chilli eating and rib eating competitions!
26 teams will battle it out in Bristol over the smoky coals with thousands of visitors interacting with the teams, tasting the food and experiencing their passion and enthusiasm for authentic barbecue. Master of ceremonies will be celebrity US pit-master Dr BBQ (aka Ray Lampe) who will oversee the judging for the weekend.
This great barbecue celebration will be accompanied by a top class music line up of Americana roots music headlined by Kitty Daisy & Lewis. They will be joined by Tennessee born singer songwriter and Southern Belle Valerie June with her own brand of organic moonshine roots music, beautifully showcased in her Dan Auerbach (Black Keys) produced album ‘You Can’t Be Told’(out this March). For a touch of Americana meets Indie, Ha Ha Tonka will also take to the stage in Bristol as well as local stars The Redhillbillies who will open the stage on Saturday.
If you can’t make the Bristol event on the 11th-12th May then there is a Manchester festival on 8th-9th June. If you love BBQ food, craft beers and music then we’ll see you there!
