Mykel is an Irish singer, song-writer and producer. ‘Hold On’ is a moving track written to express his love and support for a friend who was dealing with a tragic passing of a loved one. In its purest form, it’s a stripped back acoustic track with Mykel’s haunting vocals adding depth and intensity to the rawness of the subject matter.
‘Hold On’ is the title track for Mykel’s EP which is out on 15th April. It is set to build on the stirring success of his debut single – ‘Sweet Valentine’ which received early support from the likes of NME, SBTV and Indie Shuffle. Nine months in the works, the finished EP is a stunning collection of soulful and emotive tunes from start to finish.
As a writer, Michael has already achieved great success, he appeared as a finalist in an RTE / Warner Brothers TV show, ‘The Hit’ in 2012. The show proved to be a challenging yet immensely rewarding experience for Michael, not only was it his debut TV performance but was also his first ever live performance that just so happened to be on national TV, up against some of the best song writers Ireland has to offer.
