New single: Mrs#1 by @YesSirBossMusic ft @JossStone

The new Single from Yes Sir Boss is out on the15 April 2013 on Stone’d records. Mrs#1 is an upbeat zinger featuring Joss Stone. This is the band’s second single taken from debut album Desperation State (released October 2012). Showcasing a more accessible pop sound, ‘Mrs #1’ combines spacious instrumentation with catchy horn melodies and a driving funk bass line, all of which sit smoothly underneath the meeting of front man Matt Sellors’ husky vocals and Stone’s soulful brilliance as the two sing of trying too hard in love. After jamming the song with Joss for the first time Matt acknowledged “I had never intended for the song to be a duet but the addition of female vocals seemed to add clarity to the lyrics, and in a way, make the song complete.” One of Joss’s favourite tracks from the album, she happily admitted “I love the song, it sounded great when we sung it together so we recorded it – simple as that!”

Yes Sir Boss’s diverse up-tempo sound takes the rhythmic foundations of ska and funk, and injects them with bluesy guitar riffs, spaghetti-western tinged jazz horns and pop-infused vocal melodies to create an irresistibly catchy mix with more than enough bite to cater to fans of all genres.
