On viewing Queer British Art at Tate Britain
Queer British Art is launchéd at the Tate,
an overview of works by artists queer
who had to deal with prejudice and hate –
As Oscar showed they had a lot to fear.
Bloomsbury’s in, a lot of Duncan Grant,
Hockney of course. A famous pic by Gluck.
Coded desires are there because they can’t
be open – without a lot of pluck.
The show though feels a bit too staid.
from your mind it will quite quickly fade.
