Kerala Crafts is a fair trade production workshop and registered charity working to provide an alternative life to poverty in South West India. The company supply baskets, trays, beauty packs, baby bibs and knickers, supporting four projects in Kerala which help to lift women and children out of poverty.
Kerala Crafts will soon be releasing a ‘limited edition’ range of fair trade knickers, designed by Emiliana Underwear. The knickers will celebrate 15 years of Kudumbashree, Kerala’s own poverty eradication programme for women. Made out of sage green bamboo jersey, upcycled khaki lace trim and purple ribbon, the knickers symbolise economic, social and women’s empowerment and prosperity.
All revenue from Kerala Crafts sales are invested back to India to help provide financial support not only for their many community projects, but also for the expanding work of a nearby girls’ orphanage, also run by the centre.
