What is it about my GOODBYE GOD Screenplay that Film Fest judges find so appealing? This script is batting about %75 at festivals all over the world, including Shanghai, Atlanta, and Orlando. Maybe it’s because it mashes genres a bit and has the dark comic edges of THE EVIL DEAD. The unlikely hero scenario of Ash challenging the ghouls with enough bravado to cut off his hand is intense. My character is an underdog in the sense he’s a minor character on the set of the Zombie Western being filmed in Bodie and can’t catch a break when it comes to wooing his beloved co-actor Donna. But he does get that break on the Other Side, and perhaps that’s what’s appealing to the judges.
