From The Drum’s third album ‘Encyclopedia’, ‘I Can’t Pretend’ is a bittersweet ode to the all too familiar battle of heart versus head. “It’s too hard to begin, when you know it will end,” croons Jonny as gentle guitars shimmer in a lonely haze of melancholic sweetness. Shot in locations including Long Island Aquarium and Cliff’s Rendezvous – a classic NY steakhouse – the clip reflects the song’s sentiment with a kaleidoscopic riot of colour teamed with hazy summer days.
A live tour de force, Pierce and Graham kick started their latest album campaign with a roof top gig in NYC and have now announced a run of UK and European dates this November.
