This year 72,000 people attended the film screenings at the 35th Moscow International Film Festival. Among special guests were such famous actors as Brad Pitt, Mark Dacascos, Christian Slater and directors Marc Forster and Gabriele Salvatores. On 29th June the official closing ceremony witnessed the distribution of the main prizes. The awards went to filmmakers from Turkey, Japan, South Korea, Russia and Poland. The main award «Golden George» went to the film «Particle» (Turkey).
Non-official awards were presented to the competitors in the morning on 29th June. The Jury prize of International film critique (FIPRESCI) for the best film of the main competition was given to the film «Memories they told me» by Brasilian producer Lucia Murat. «Matterhorn» by the Dutch producer Diederik Ebbinge was awarded an unprecedented number of non-official prizes. This film was feted by Russian film experts and critics union, federation of film critics and also won the Audience Award.

The Special Prize for The Outstanding Achievement In The Career Of Acting and Devotion To The Principles of K.Stanislavsky’s school went to KSENIYA RAPPOPORT of Russia, who said «I’m happy the prize hasn’t gone abroad»
