Advance warning: Spoke is a new cycling themed design and illustration event which will be held in the CLF Art Cafe (Bussey Building) in Peckham on the 28th June 2014.
Bringing together over 25 of the country’s foremost artists, cyclists and design enthusiasts for the first time, the FREE event will celebrate everyone’s favourite two-wheeled mode of transport at this inventive illustration gathering. From a special screen printing workshop run by Sonsoles Print Studio to an illustration competition from London Cycling Campaign, the all-day event will include performances by cycling themed musicians and DJs from SHED radio.
From hardy road bikers to fair weather enthusiasts, cyclists, art enthusiasts and the local people of London are encouraged to come and experience this one-off event. Spoke promotes and celebrates cycling through artists’ impressions and creative expression. Discover illustrators and designers who have adored the tranquillity, freedom and fun of cycling.
Rose Riley, Event Director for Spoke commented: “Peckham was the ideal place to host Spoke because over the past couple of years this area has not only become a hot-bed for art and illustration but also we’ve seen so many more people take to the roads on the bikes for commuting and sheer enjoyment. It just seemed the perfect time to combine two things that people in London are incredibly passionate about in one, fun and free event.”
