The East End Film Festival – download the programme and start planning for June 13-25 @EastEndFilmFest

The programme is now available online for the 2014 edition of the East End Film Festival. Showcasing the best of new indie films from around the world, with the help of a crowd-funding campaign this year’s fest will last 13 days, from 13-25 June.

Download the programme and have a look at the many different strands that make up the festival. Between the Opening Night Gala with the world premiere of Ross Clark’s Dermaphoria, and the Closing Night’s Adam Ant BlueBlack Hussar there are films of all genres, as well as free family entertainment and standup comedy.

31 films from British filmmakers bring the concerns of Albion to the big screen. The Befuddled Box of Betty Buttiflint has to be the best named film in this section, whilst Hackney’s Finest tries to bring a new approach to the tired British gangster genre. Does it succeed? Hackney Picturehouse on Saturday 14 June will tell us.

Shorts, Q&As, World and European films add to the mix, as does a Mexican Focus section, a day of Palestinian film and a cinematic celebration of the Deep South. I gather that means Louisiana rather than Brighton.
