Check out David Fawcett’s humorous paintings at Dcontemporary on Grafton Street. Each one has a title scribbled on it which adds a droll note to the pleasantly naive acrylic image. Great observations, which ring painfully true from You’ll have to speak up John, I’m passing a load of Hare Krishnas to Two passengers listening to Status Quo (an image of a woman on a train enduring the second-hand music escaping from the earphones of a contented Status Quo fan). ‘Observations of a London commuter’ is a big exhibition of small paintings by a self-taught artist and is a worthy stop on any weekend art perambulation.
