The Albert, a new pop-up venue in South Kilburn for art, live performances, sports, food growing, cooking, music and more opens tomorrow in NW6.
Conveniently located opposite Queen’s Park tube station, The Albert is a collaboration of 100 talented artists, cooks, architects, trainers, musicians, photographers, carpenters and performers, coming together to offer local people an exciting programme of free classes, workshops and events suitable for all ages.
The venue launches on Thursday 31st January, when from midday until midnight everyone is welcome to come along and try free taster sessions in art, music, performance, carpentry, yoga and sports training. The Albert team of cooks will be serving a delicious menu all afternoon. Local residents are invited to join the “plot to plate” food-growing project, which will start with the allocation of plots, and the outdoor space and ball court is open for play.
Free evening events start at 6pm, with film projections followed by live music and performances. At 7pm The Albert will be officially opened by local councilors, with a free drink for all guests. The licensed bar will be open from 6pm until 12am, and a small street food market will provide tasty dishes from 5-10pm.
