February Blues
Ice has brought Berlin’s domed stag to standstill,
The Dutch canals are home to skaters who
are criss-crossing much faster than the ferries,
In Britain, planes are frozen on the runway,
Greece’s ice, a different kind of beast,
Our thoughts go out, to frosted, stranded homeless,
Bitter, biting, daily cold they suffer,
When will Europe’s crisis end in thaw?
“Get rhythm! When you’ve got the blues! Get rhythm!” See, room for Johnny Cash anywhere! Finally a poem with rhythm, love it!
