WRITING AWARD FROM ITALY

First Day of Summer: A Kiss from Syracuse, Sicily

Hmmmm. I didn’t know there was a Syracuse in Italy, and in Sicily of all places. Is that where the Syracuse in NYC got it’s start? Who knows. All I know is they made me an offer I can’t refuse, this one for a screenplay about a wayward priest, which I wrote as a lark in about 5 weeks. The laurel MEDFF sure doesn’t give the location away, and I wish it would. MEDFF = The Mediterranean Film Festival, but I thought it had something to do with a Medical Organization, such as the Red Cross. A glance at their website shows a secluded bay in Sicily with a hoard of seagulls hovering in the cobalt sky. Makes me want to travel. Onward!
