To mark the launch of the new James Bond film rare book specialist Peter Harrington asked one of Britain’s foremost designers, Paul Smith, to create a new cover for a first edition, first impression copy of The Man with the Golden Gun (1965).
Paul Smith’s design includes James Bond wearing the new Paul Smith ‘A Tuxedo to Travel In’ whilst holding a golden gun. The book has a bright scarlet background and pink coated end papers. This specially executed fine binding by the Chelsea Bindery is on sale for £3,500.
The book is on display with 40 other Bond books and memorabilia in the ‘Domino Room’ at Paul Smith’s Mayfair shop until Saturday 7th November.
