Le Ménage
by Catherine Sawers
Putting clothes on hangers
What is the point
I’m just going to wear that shirt
Again in a week
Keeping up the manor
Cleaning up this joint
For all this effort I must exert
My digs are hardly more sheik
We’re still sleeping in the parlor
Cos tidying isn’t my strongpoint
Later today I might get a spurt
But the thought of it makes me weak.
