Vote for the best British Innovation: The Mini? TV? WWW? DNA? #GreatVote

The search is on to find the best British innovation from last 100 years. Your vote counts! The shortlist features around 100 British innovations; from the splitting of the atom to the invention of the World Wide Web and the discovery of the structure of DNA. Voting runs throughout National Science and Engineering Week, with the winning innovation to be announced on 25 March.

Will you choose Baird’s original TV apparatus? The original Mini? Hovercrafts? MRI scanners? The list is a journey though much of what we take for granted today and it is amazing that it was all invented in one small country somewhere of the edge of Europe! Optical fibre? the discovery of vitamins? Bone replacement? Is there no end to the ingenuity of the inhabitants of these damp, green isles?!

Take a look at the list here and get voting here.
