Award-winning calligrapher Sally Mangum has collaborated with G.H.MUMM to create a bespoke label honouring the 60th Anniversary of the Coronation of Her Majesty The Queen. A limited number of G.H.MUMM Cordon Rouge N.V. Magnums have been created, one of which will be gifted to Queen Elizabeth today during the Royal Coronation Festival, while the remainder will be auctioned off in support of the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust.
G.H.MUMM has been an official supplier of champagne to British Royalty since 1904 as evidenced by the Royal Warrant decorating the neck of every bottle.
Sally Mangum, award winning calligrapher and QEST scholar said: “It has been an honour to have been selected to design the G.H.MUMM limited edition bottle label in celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Coronation of HM The Queen. I’m delighted to think that Her Majesty will be celebrating her special anniversary with a bottle bearing my design.”
Originally from Maine, Sally has lived in London since graduating from Mount Holyoake College, Massachusetts with a BA degree in History of Art. She was awarded a prestigious Queen Elizabeth Scholarship in 2007 to study Heraldic Art at Reigate School of Art and Design.
“We very much appreciate G.H.MUMM’s support for QEST at the Coronation Festival,” said Nick Farrow, President of QEST. “Both our organisations uphold the traditions of craftsmanship and we are most honoured to be the benefactor of this celebratory champagne. It is a stunning bottle and Sally has done some tremendous calligraphy for the label, it will surely become a collector’s item for wine connoisseurs.”
