Video: Help London’s homeless with @HoStBarnabas #johnsStory

The House of St Barnabas has supported London’s homeless since 1846. 2013 saw the evolution of its charitable work when it opened the first not-for-profit private members’ club, offering integrated on-site training and work experience to those affected by homelessness. Membership fees and donations support the charity’s work. The club, housed in the historic suite of rooms at The House of St Barnabas, is an engaging, innovative space where people can meet, connect, exchange and realise ideas.

In Spring 2013, acclaimed Scottish actor Brian Cox (currently starring in The Weir in London’s west end) visited The House of St Barnabas and filmed an interview with one of the charity’s success stories, John Smallshaw. John is a former heroin addict who had been homeless on and off for 40 years. The film follows John from Academy graduate to one of the club’s employees.

Help change someone else’s life for the better. If 15,000 people donate £5 The House of St Barnabas can help transform another 25 lives. Support them by donating £5 Text ‘JOHN20 £5’ to 70070.
