by the F1 Poet
So Renault are back in the F1 game,
even if they have no livery or cars.
To lose them would have been a crying shame,
the French are some of motor sports’ great stars.
The history of F1 should not be trashed
in pursuit of pounds by owners CVC.
The historic teams and circuits can’t just be cashed
in – replaced by those who’ll pay a massive fee.
Renault have had a rather torrid year,
their engines, sorry, power units not good.
The whole experiment has been quite dear,
but now they’re back – the hope is that they should
develop well, attack the tracks with vim –
and in a year or two the trophy win.
