Artist insight: Federica Lucia Vinella

Fountain, Federica Lucia Vinella

When I came in Berlin, first steps on ground I had a feeling that I was walking in a silent black and white picture. There was nothing that could remind me of the blue friendly vibe of my land.

Silent. White. Grey, then again Silent.

Horizons, Federica Lucia Vinella

Bricks, factories, smooth shapes walking lonely on the streets.

This is what they gave me: the brush goes where the mind still searches for the blue that can’t be found. There are other paths to follow, other feelings to caress and other horizons to remember.

All of what I paint is mostly about memories and the impressions collected every moment. Step by step under the power of the events.

I think that painting something is somehow freezing my liquid life on the touchable material. It is a challenge, it is a game. When something goes on my skin but I cannot touch it, that’s the good time to depict it by the stream of the paint brush. And what is going to be I will never know.

This is the new room and what all the new rooms could be for a new person. This is a matter of impressions and what every single corner is secretly an infinte source of possibilities. There’s no need sometimes to look too much forward to find the keys of new expressions.

This is the old room that shows new faces with wonder if you know how to listen to.

  1. I love the use of brush strokes. Like fuzzy haze or misty morning. It has a romantic, destructive appeal.
