Inspired by J. K. Rowling’s series of books, Quidditch is an inclusive, competitive sport and a member of the Sports and Recreation Alliance. Since its inception in the UK in 2011, the sport is now widely played by hundreds of players, culminating in the British Quidditch Cup when 32 teams from across the UK will compete for the title of national champions.
Building on the back of the hugely successful second British Quidditch Cup in Nottingham in March 2015, QuidditchUK is now aiming for an even larger and more resplendent celebration of competitive Quidditch in the UK. It’s surely the only sporting event in the UK with the following line in the FAQ…players may bring their own broom if they wish, however brooms will be available.
